Hot AW19 trends you'll love according to two top Instagram stylists

Cardigans that add pizzaz… what to pair faux leather with now… how to add in statement earrings and necklaces to elevate your look…
This month, top Instagram stylists Sarah Lilly and Jaz Birk spoke exclusively to me on their key Autumn/Winter style picks.

Tell us about one wardrobe staple or trend that’s big this Autumn/Winter?

“The cardigan is finally fashionable!

Autumn Winter shopping trends

After going through several lost years of being the piece that kills an outfit, the cardigan can now hold its head high and be the centrepiece to make the outfit! Think of it as a piece that becomes the focal point of the look, rather than the item that lives on the back of your office chair and gets a daily outing when the aircon gets cranked up.
Whether you go for a chunky knit or a long line printed one, make sure it adds some pizazz to your look.
I wear this hot pink number H&M alpaca cardi with mom jeans, heels and my Rock Paper Roses Rainbow Star Earrings to add a touch of sparkle to my look.”

“Faux leather is bang on trend this season.

Faux leather pleated skirt River Island

I love wearing my River Island pleated faux leather skirt with this pink cashmere sweater for a pop of colour. Adding in a statement necklace is a simple accessory that really elevates the whole look.
The blazer jacket I’ve added here is a classic staple for your wardrobe. I also love to wear mine with jeans, a t shirt and boots for a more casual style.”

What about colours and prints ladies?

Sarah: “The high street is full of fabulous, Seventies-inspired pieces including tiered maxi dresses, retro florals; and colour palettes so rich and indulgent it's hard to know whether to wear or eat them! Think mossy greens, burnt orange, butterscotch and rich chocolates.

Warehouse Floral Print dress

My fave at the moment is this Warehouse maxi dress, I love playing with the look by adding long line boots underneath, or popping a chunky knit and a belt to give the dress a separates appearance.

I naturally err towards earrings to add the final flourish to my outfit, I love the drama a big statement pair can add to the simplest of outfits. Here I’ve teamed this dress with these olive green, resin earrings also from Warehouse.”

Jaz: “Dark floral prints are going to be so on trend this Autumn/Winter- but they are also a very versatile all-season look.
My style year round is to combine any one of my floral dresses with boots, a biker jacket or a chunky knit. It’s such an adaptable look.

This black floral dress ticks all the boxes for me. Come Spring/Summer season I’ll be wearing it with peep toe sandal boots, as seen in my photograph here.

Open toe black boots
