Our Story

At Rock Paper Roses we believe in the transformative power of jewellery and accessories. Have you noticed how a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt go from ordinary to something really special when you add in a statement necklace or pair of hoops? 

Hi, I’m Riyaza, the founder and creative vision behind Rock Paper Roses. We are a female led, family owned online accessories brand based in Surrey in the UK. My professional background is in media sales and PR. I've been lucky enough to work on some really great brands including Cosmopolitan Magazine and the Sunday Times Travel Magazine.

It was my love of jewellery and accessorising that led me to start Rock Paper Roses. I've been collecting fashion jewellery and accessories since I was a teenager. More recently I'd look at high fashion jewellery on catwalks and high end brands and wonder "how can you wear that in real life situations, like on the school run or in the office?" 

So in the Spring of 2016 I set out to start my own jewellery line. I reached out to suppliers who worked with jewellery factories and designers and put together a small collection of four designs. Today I'm proud to say we have over 40 jewellery designs.

I base our jewellery designs on jewellery shapes and styles that are trending in  seasonal fashion collections. I also look to the high street and social media for style inspiration, so our jewellery collections reflect what is current.

In October 2025 I was so proud to be able to add clutch purses to our range- taking us from a jewellery range to an accessories collection!

For a long time, I’ve dreamed of expanding our offering beyond jewellery. I kept asking myself: What other statement pieces truly complete an outfit? The answer was clear — bags. But not just any bags. They had to be stylish, on-trend, and above all, conversation starters — just like our jewellery. Our gorgeous new clutch purses were the obvious next step. With their beauty lying in their styling and detail, to me they are bags that feel like jewellery.
