With the heatwave in full swing here in the UK, we’re sporting bare arms and revealing our décolletages. Nothing says summer fashion to me like a bit of boho-chic layering of necklaces and stacking bracelets. In today's post, I’m going to break these trends down for you so you can get-your-stack-on with confidence!
Layering Necklaces
This is one of the biggest jewellery trends this summer, and if you’ve spent any time at all on Instagram you’ll have seen this on fashion bloggers and influencers everywhere.
The key is to wear different lengths- from super short, to mid length and long. Add a metal choker to your favourite pendant necklace to freshen up your look. Or try adding a longer chain to a mid length necklace with pendant for a really interesting look.
Stick to one metal tone and you can’t go wrong. Gold is super on-trend right now. (And if you’re worried about whether gold suits your skin tone, check out our guide to metals and skin tones).
Another really popular combination at the moment is adding one piece of rose gold jewellery to a silver jewellery look. I love this idea as it adds a tiny hint of sparkle and interest to your look.
Use items you’ve already got and you can easily achieve this summer look. And then layer it over jumpers and tops come autumn.

Stacking bracelets
This is a trend that has been around for a while, but I still think it looks as fresh as ever, particularly against summer florals or bright colours. It’s a great expression of identity too- no one else’s bracelet stack will ever look like yours!
Intermingle metals, materials and colours for a really bohemian look: beads, cuffs and bangles are really fun. Start with a base piece such as a cuff or two or three matching bangles, then add in some simpler pieces like a beaded or metal bracelet. Adding in texture and variety really makes the look pop.

Or for a more minimal look, go with more delicate jewellery. I love stacking my gold RockPaperRoses Sentiment Bracelet with a beaded bracelet I was given for my birthday. The feature piece of my stack is the latest addition to the RockPaperRoses collection. The little charm on our new H O P E bracelets stands out because it’s a different shape to the rest of the stack.
And that’s key to stacking bracelets and layering necklaces- combine different shapes and styles and it will always look interesting.
